On this walking tour through the oldest part of Rome, you will discover some of the Eternal City's key ancient sites including the Colosseum and the Forum.

Departing from Piazza Venezia with your personal guide, you will plunge into the capital's glorious past with a walk through the Forums, the Colosseum and Circus Maximus, where you will reach the imposing Baths of Caracalla.
From here, your driver will take you to one of the oldest roads in the city: the Appia Antica, where your guide will help unlock the secrets of this historical area. You will be fascinated by the splendid ruins within the park: the well-known Tomb of Cecilia Metella, dating back to the middle of the first century B.C., the Circus of Massenzio, and the Catacombs of San Sebastiano, a subterranean cemetery which constitutes one of the very few accessible remaining Christian cemeteries.Lunch will be at a restaurant known for its unusual location; an ancient post where the horses that transported merchandise from the Mediterranean to Rome were exchanged. The restaurant also has a gorgeous garden where a fragrant wisteria has flowered for more than 300 years. The menu has been inspired by the ancient gastronomical Latium culture and will delight and surprise you. After lunch, your driver will be waiting for you right outside your restaurant to take you leisurely back to your hotel.NB: transfers by luxury chauffeured car to and from your accommodation can be arranged upon request.
