The Hotel Splendide Royal in Rome is a 5 star deluxe hotel located in the center of Rome (Transfer can be arranged).
Just ten minutes from the famous Spanish Steps, and nestled amongst the greenery of the Villa Borghese Park, it is truly at the center of "La Dolce Vita Romana" of Via Veneto. After check-in, you can immediately begin exploring the Eternal City or simply relax before dinner, which you will be able to enjoy in one of the many authentic restaurants in the center of Rome.
Today begins at the Piazza Venezia where you will meet your personal guide and visit the Imperial Forum, the Colosseum and Circus Maximus - fascinating landmarks of Rome that must not be missed. Next, you will travel with your chauffeur to the Baths of Caracalla, embarking on a journey of discovery along one of the oldest roads in Rome: the Appia Antica. You will visit the ruins within the national park: the famous Tomb of Cecilia Metella, the Circus of Massenzio and the ruins of the external villa, as well as the Catacomb of San Sebastiano. Afterwards, you will lunch at a truly unique and magical location within the Appia Antica Park, where you will enjoy traditional Roman food, followed by a leisurely drive back to your hotel.
You will enjoy a leisurely breakfast at 'La Limonaia' on the terrace of your hotel, characterized by warm Mediterranean colors and providing incredible panoramic views of Rome. The remainder of the morning is yours to spend as you choose. In the afternoon your driver will escort you to Sacrofano: a magnificent little medieval village where you will be met by your personal chef, Simona, and given a guided tour of the village and its historic shops. Together you will select ingredients for the dishes you will be preparing that afternoon, learning traditional skills and techniques from the experts, before enjoying a delicious meal and excellent wine in the relaxing surroundings of the villa.
Upon your return home, you will be able to tempt your friends and family with these delicacies! Afterwards, you will take a leisurely drive back to you hotel.
After breakfast your driver will be waiting to take you to the Vatican Museum, where you will be met by your personal guide, ready to explore one of the greatest collections of art in the world. And forget about waiting in line for hours, you will be fast tracked to the front of the queue, and enjoy three and a half hours immersed among the likes of Raffaello, Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, passing by the Room of the Candelabra and Gallery of the Maps. Next up, the breathtaking magnificence of the Sistine Chapel, a masterpiece within a masterpiece; and later, through a direct access, to Saint Peter's Basilica. World center of the Catholic Church, this is a sacred place that was designed and built by some of the greatest architects and artists of the XV century: including Bramante, Michelangelo, Raffaello and Bernini.
After your tour you will be free to wander around Rome, or if you prefer, return to your hotel.
