Day 2 – Naples highlights tour
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be met by your private English-speaking driver and guide. Together, you will enjoy a tour of the main historical highlights of the city: A city that literally embraces visitors with its fresh local cuisine, the animated and theatrical characteristics of its inhabitants, and its lust for life. You will discover a city that is teeming with energy and is animated by contradictions, regarded by many as the most alive, creative, and beautiful city in Italy. How can one resist spending time in what Goethe once called a “little devil’s paradise?”. No one should die without having seen Naples! These are some of the most interesting sites you will see: Plebiscito Square,The Dome of Naples, San Carlo Theatre (from outside), the Archeological Museum, San Gregorio Armeno street (the street famous for Christmas nativity cribs) and Spaccanapoli (the heart of Naples) that is one of the most famous area of Naples, where art, tradition, history and culture combined in a kaleidoscope of sensations. Another sensational place to visit, is “The San Severo Chapel” where inside you can find the incredible “Veiled Christ”. Day 3 – Naples: Food Tour
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be met by your private English speaking guide. Together, you will enjoy a tour of the main historical highlights of the city: Galleria Caracciolo, the famous Plebiscito Square, the San Carlo Theatre, considered the oldest theatre in Europe, Maschio Angioino, a historic Medieval and Renaissance Castle, one of the symbols of the city of Naples. Walking through the picturesque streets of Naples, you will see artisans at work and you will taste some delicious specialties such as the Sfogliatella Pastry, the typical Taralli (tinysavory donuts spiced up with almond and pepper), the traditional Folded Pizza and the Foresta Chocolate cake. End of the tour and free time at leisure.

Day 4 – From Naples to Sorrento with stopover in Pompeii with lunch and wine tasting
Breakfast and check out from the hotel . you will be met by your private English-speaking driver for a first stop in Pompeii, where you will be met by your private English speaking guide for a guided excursion at the excavations. Here you will visit the archeological site and admire the ruins of this famous city that, in AD 79 was buried under lava and ashes by the eruption of Mt Vesuvius. You can get a complete picture of the typical daily life of the Ancient Roman settlement and how it was completely devastated by one of the worst natural disasters in ancient history. Pompeii is the most visited archeological site in the world. After the visit you will be chauffeured to a winery close to the slopes near Archeological Site of Pompeii. Here, you will enjoy a guided tour inside the 4 hectares of the property, vineyards and elegant cellars and visit the Wine Museum in an Ancient Building from the 16th century. The tour will end up with an official Wine Tasting and appetizers from traditional Neapolitan menus and ancient roman dishes. Day 5 – Sorrento: Capri private boat tour with English speaking Captain
Today, you will have the chance to enjoy the splendid sea of the Sorrentina Peninsula and discover the secrets of the Island of Capri. Your personal driver will meet you at the hotel and will take you to the port where your private boat will be awaiting you, with an English speaking Captain. During the ride breathe in the healthy sea air and splashes from the waves, while admiring the gorgeous Sorrento Coastline. Only on a boat trip can you truly enjoy the beauty of Capri and it’s coastline filled with turquoise blue coves and famous grottoes, the White Grotto, the Emerald Grotto and the Blue Grotto, famous all over the world for its intense azure color. You will approach some of the smaller hidden coves where you can jump in the water of the Mediterranean or just chill out and get a suntan. The excursion includes going 360° around the island to wallow in its beauty, passing by the Faraglioni Rocks. Your Captain will point out “Tiberius’s Leap”, where, according to the legend, the Roman emperor who moved to the Island for the last 11 years of his life, used to force his disobedient servants and unwelcome guests to jump off the rugged cliffs. If you want you can dock in the Marina Grande harbor and go for a walk around Capri and Anacapri and discover this enchanting Island. On your boat, you will have snorkeling equipment, towels, drinks (water, beer, coca cola, limocello) and a classical “ Panino” with fresh tomato, mozzarella, basil and olive oil. At the end of the tour, you will transfer back to Sorrento port and back to your hotel.

Day 6 – Sorrento: Private tour of the Amalfi Coast
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be met by your private English-speaking driver for a full day tour along the Amalfi Coast. He will drive you to the enchanting route known as the “Divine Coast”: along the way, you will have time to stop at some of the panoramic viewpoints to take some amazing fotos and memories for you to take back home. Then, you will have some free time to discover and relax on the top of Positano, a tiny ex fishermans village in typical Mediterranean style with white washed houses covered with bright pink bougainvillea. On the way to Amalfi, you will visit a Ceramics shop in Conca dei Marini with beautiful local produce. At the end of your visit, your driver will take you to the nearby Amalfi, the oldest of the four Maritime Republics in Italy. Here you will have free time for lunch at leisure. You can choose from lunch overlooking the sea or in a typical little Italian “piazza”. After lunch, free time to wander through the labyrinth of streets and alleys and admire the magnificent and imposing facade of Saint Andrea’s Cathedral with the unique Arab Norman and Romanesque Style. Later, your driver will escort you up to Ravello for relaxing moments on the picturesque square where you will admire the magnificent panorama that has inspired poets, philosophers and beauty lovers of past and present times. And the end of the tour, your driver will bring you back to your hotel in Sorrento. Rest of the day will be at leisure. Overnight in Sorrento.

Day 7 – Sorrento: Cooking Class with lunch
After breakfast, you will be met by your private English speaking driver in the hotel lobby who will take you to your cooking class. This is in the countryside of Sorrento and you will live a special gourmand experience. Silence and beauty are the two main words that describe this location. A true farmhouse where their fresh produce from the garden, cultivated by local farmers and brought fresh to the table.
Key word to food in Italy is “fresh”. Those who wish to participate in farm activities like this are more than welcome. A small hill hidden between sea and land, where days go by slowly and you can completely forget the noisy city chaos. Here you will truly find the hidden side of the Amalfi Coast, rediscover the five senses, smell the lemon groves, taste the local cuisine, listen to the silence, smell the sea breeze, see the magnificence of it all. Experience it all at a slow and easy farmhouse pace, it will be unforgettable. Upon your arrival, you will visit the farmhouse and the kitchen and then, together with your personal English speaking chef-guide, you will pick some fresh vegetables from the garden and these will be your ingredients for you to create a typical local menu. The chef will show you how to make tasty pasta dishes, incorporating her own special recipes. You will learn the secrets of traditional Italian Cuisine during your 4 hour cooking class, in a relaxing, friendly and cozy atmosphere. You will then be able to taste your own cooking with some of the best local wine sitting outdoor on the terrace. Once back home remember to cook these Italian meals for your family and friends. After lunch, your driver will transfer you back to your hotel and you will have free time at leisure.

Day 8 – Sorrento to Naples: departure
After breakfast and check out at the hotel, your private English-speaking driver will transfer you directly to Naples Capodichino airport for departure back home.

Tour Rome with limited time - We learned about Dragonfly Tours from a close friend. She and her daughter were very pleased with all the arrangements made on their behalf through Dragonfly. We had... read more booked a villa in Tuscany through another agency, but we wanted to tour Rome before going to our villa. We only had a couple of days in Rome prior to a week at the villa, so we wanted to do as much as possible in limited time. We asked Dragonfly to arrange a method to visit the must see attractions with the least amount of walking. We also needed a private transfer from FCO to a hotel upon our arrival. We also asked for a private transfer from Rome to our villa in Cortona, Tuscany. We needed a transfer back to Rome after a week in Tuscany as well. Dragonfly's response to our requirements was outstanding and detailed. We were greeted at the airport by a driver for a private transfer to our boutique B&B in Rome. We spent the afternoon on our own, but Dragonfly had given us a great list of restaurants to choose from. The next morning we were met at our hotel by a golf cart driver for a private tour of the highlights of Rome, tour of the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peters Basilica. These tours included a private guide and skip the line tickets. Lunch was also included. The following day we were greeted again by our private guide of Ancient Rome - Colosseum and Roman Forum then a private transfer to our villa in Cortona. The guides Dragonfly provided for these tours were well spoken and knowledgeable. In short, they were excellent English speaking guides. In our short visit to Rome, Dragonfly was able to give us the opportunity to visit the following: Fontana di Trevi, Piazza del Popolo, Borghese Gardens area scenic overlook, Spanish Steps, Piazza del Pantheon, Piazza Novona, Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, Colosseum, and the Roman Forum. All of this with a private guide for 4 people without having to walk much or having to deal with long entry lines. With a private transfer for the two hour drive to Tuscany and return to Rome, we didn't have to deal with confusing train schedules, rental cars, narrow roads, unbelievable traffic, and parking problems.
Dragonfly provided us with a stress free tour of Rome within our limited time to visit.
They also communicated via WhatsApp with us throughout our time in Italy and answered promptly any question we had making suggestions for our time when we were on our own.
