An elegant aristocratic home, the hotel was once a meeting point for intellectuals and artists, such as writer Luigi Pirandello, who stayed there in the Thirties. An exclusive blend of past and present, the hotel has 53 rooms, all elegantly furnished and equipped with a balcony or terrace with chaise lounges. The restaurant serves Mediterranean specialties from an à la carte menu featuring delicious, sophisticated dishes. After a pleasant ride (of about 30 minutes) during which you are able to admire the gorgeous Sorrento Coast, you will arrive in Capri. Only a boat trip can give you the most beautiful views of the island, many of which are inaccessible by land, offering you a complete visit of Capri. You will reach small hidden coves where you can swim or lie in the sun and enjoy to the full this spectacular vision of the beauty of Capri. The excursion includes a circumnavigation around the island so you can enjoy the beautiful scenery, for example the Faraglioni Rocks, the numerous caves like the White Grotto, the Emerald Grotto and the Blue Grotto, famous all over the world for its intense azure color; entrance into the Grotto, is always subject to excellent weather conditions. The entrance fee is about 15 Euro per person and can only be paid on the spot, as you transfer directly to small rowing boats to enter the Grotto. Here your private guide will illustrate this unbelievable city that was destroyed along with Pompeii by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD and covered by a layer of mud, lava and ashes that has over time become a solid layer of tuff , in some places more than 20 meters tall. Herculaneum is the only example in the world of an ancient city which remained intact whole wooden structures of the houses and furnishings of daily use. After this first visit we will reserve a table for you in a lovely restaurant just by the archeological site of Pompeii where you can enjoy a little rest and a delicious lunch. Meet up again with your private guide after lunch and start your visit of the fascinating and ancient town of Pompeii and the unique excavations. You will admire the ruins of this famous city that, in AD 79 was submerged by lava and ashes just like Herculaneum. You will be able to see from right close up the daily life of how the Romans lived and how the whole town was devastated by one of the worst natural disasters in ancient history. The excavations of Pompeii are, due to their importance and relevance, the most visited archeological site in the world. End of the tour and transfer back to your hotel in Sorrento.

Day 8 - Private transfer from Assisi to Radda in Chianti

Breakfast and check out from your Hotel in Assisi. Meet your private driver for a direct transfer to your hotel in Radda in Chianti. Arrive at the luxury country House “Livernano” 4**** and check in. Free time at leisure. Located right in the heart of the Chianti area, Livernano is a truly ancient place: it was first inhabited by Etruscans, whose culture reached its high-point in Tuscany over 2500 years ago, around 500BC. The Tuscan style of the rooms lend many of its features to the Mediterranean style: the use of stone, the same Roman arched windows and doors, and even more warm colored roofs and homes are distinctive to this style. Three houses of this hamlet have been completely redesigned to accommodate guests in an atmosphere of understated luxury. All rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished with fine, local antiques and en-suite marble bathrooms. You can also enjoy the beautiful landscaped swimming pool and an authentic four-course dinner prepared by a local chef.

Day 9 – Radda in Chianti: Wine tasting in Chianti area with lunch

Today you will experience a historical winery of the Chianti Region specializing in “Chianti classico wine”. One of the most attractive views in Chianti can be seen only if you go to the piazza of the little village of Lamole, an ancient rural settlement that is situated on the top of a hill, with the buildings of the hamlet encircling the Romanesque church of San Donato. It is here that your voyage to discover Chianti Classico begins: a visit to the Piazza and to the Church is followed by a detailed description of the unique characteristics of this terrain and of organic vine-growing practices, demonstrated directly in Campolungo Vineyard. This introduction is accompanied by a welcoming glass of sparkling wine, with a breathtaking view over Chianti Classico area. A brief walk through the vineyards will bring guests to the winery and afterwards visit the Vinsantaia, where one of the iconic products of Chianti Classico slowly matures: Vinsanto, with its very traditional method of production. Tour includes the winery tour: Historic and Experimental Vineyards, vinification cellar, historic cellar and Vinsantaia. Tasting: 4 wines from the Tuscan estates Pairing: A 4-course tasting lunch included. End of tour and make your way back to your hotel.

We have booked a typical Tuscan light lunch with local produce for you to enjoy, before the end of the tour. After this you will transfer to the beautiful town of Pienza, where you will have free time (approx. 2 hours) to explore on your own. Pienza started off as a tiny Sienese citadel, called Corsignano. Built by order of the Pope Pio II – Enea Silvio Piccolomini , done completely in Renaissance style, as the Pope had decided to transform his home town in a beautiful place for him and his court to be protected and relaxed near the water risings of Valdorcia. Pienza is also the capital city of the “Pecorino” – sheep cheese. The milk is particularly aromatic because of the configuration of the clayey land where many aromatic herbs grow, where their sheep all graze freely, producing a unique perfumed milk and cheese. Pienza Pecorino cheese has the D.O.P. European label (which means a Protected Origin Denomination). Pecorino cheese and Brunello di Montalcino are undoubtedly the perfect match! After the visit your private driver will escort you back to your hotel.

Day 11 – From Radda in Chianti to Cortona with stop and visit a Crystal Factory

After the tour, we can suggest a lovely restaurant where you will enjoy a nice lunch, (the lunch is not included in the tour) and afterwards make you way to the Cortona Resort & Spa 4****. Today, it is possible to see the original city walls dating back to 5th century B.C. You can also visit a very interesting Etruscan Academy displaying bronzes, vases and other objects from the Etruscan period. Then, you will head to Le Celle, referred to as "Santuario Le Celle" or (Convent of the cells). It is located outside the walls of Cortona.
