Nestled in the Tuscan countryside in the heart of the province of Siena, just a few kilometers from Montepulciano, you will find your special country manor accommodation, 'La Lupaia'. Once you have settled in, your driver will escort you to the nearby medieval town of Cortona, which enjoys a privileged position overlooking Lake Trasimeno and Val di Chiana. Take time to stroll through the streets and admire the shops and churches that have served as the setting for many famous films, such as Roberto Benigni's "La vita è bella" (Life is Beautiful). Afterwards, you will enjoy dinner in a restaurant whose chef is considered "the Father of Tuscan Cuisine", where the owner Romano and his wife will serve a menu created especially for you, including homemade pasta, cold cuts, cheeses and wonderful "Chianina" meat, all expertly prepared. After dinner, your driver will chauffeur you back to your hotel.
After a delicious breakfast prepared with hearty homemade and local ingredients including pastries, cheeses, yogurt and croissants, you will be able to choose if you would prefer to spend the morning walking around nearby Montepulciano or relaxing by the magnificent pool with a gorgeous view of the surrounding Tuscan hills. In the afternoon you will "remove your civilian clothes" and don your chef uniform. During this special cooking class, you and the chef will work side-by-side to create a variety of homemade pasta and other delicacies in a three-hour class, discovering the secrets of true Tuscan cuisine. Afterwards, you will be able to enjoy the fruits of your labors, sitting down together to taste everything you have prepared, from the appetizers to the dessert. You and your creations will be the stars of the evening.
After a revitalizing breakfast, your unique day will begin with a leisurely drive to the magnificent Abbey of San Galgano, dating back to AD 1200, also famously known as the "Roofless Church".
