You will meet your personal guide in one of the most well-known historic squares, in the neighborhood in Rome, where the traditions of the 1800's are still alive today: Trastevere (transfer can be arranged). Epitomizing Roman life in every corner, in Trastevere you will visit the renowned Basilica di Santa Maria, founded in the 3rd Century by Pope Callixtus I and later renovated by Pope Innocent II.

Next, a visit to the Basilica di Santa Cecilia: a church built (according to legend) upon the family home of Cecilia ("...illustrious virgin, born from noble Roman lineage") who suffered martyrdom in 220 AD. After a walk through the streets of this colorful neighborhood bristling with local folklore and unusual "artigianale" craft shops, you will reach Piazza Trilussa. Here you can admire the bronze bust dedicated to this famous Roman poet and the Fontana di Ponte Sisto (Fountain of Ponte Sisto).
After this you will visit the old Porta Settimiana -the gate in the Aurelian Wall close to Vatican Hill - then pause for an appetizing culinary experience: some of the best homemade pizza in the capital with an amazing wide variety of pizza available by the slice for you to taste. After your meal, you will take a leisurely drive to a location with a breathtaking panorama and a view of the entire city: la Terrazza del Gianicolo (the Janiculum Terrace). This romantic destination offers views of immeasurable beauty, gently caressed by the classic "Roman summer westerly wind".

Finally, you will be chauffeured in luxury back to your hotel or, if you prefer, to the city center.
