History should not only be studied, but also admired! The idea for this very unusual tour was conceived around this premise and dedicated to those who want to deepen their knowledge of history through their love of travel.

Your personal driver will be waiting for you outside your hotel to take you to one of the few locations that holds the history of Umbria: Foligno, the ancient Fulginium of the Romans. Here, you will meet your guide and together you will explore the streets admiring the Medieval and Renaissance beauty still preserved in this beautiful city, including the main "piazza" (square), its buildings and its churches. Moreover, you will be able to witness how this remarkable city rediscovered its true heart, and rebuilt after a catastrophic earthquake hit it in 1997.
Later, you will be accompanied to Bevagna, another evocative and interesting village within this region defined by many as "the most beautiful medieval village of our day". Bevagna is also synonymous with culinary tradition; at a specially selected restaurant you will have the opportunity to sample an excellent selection of dishes born from the union of traditional Umbrian cuisine and more modern elements. Next you will visit the historic center with its unique and characteristic Medieval shops, transporting you right back to a bygone era, your very own visit to a time from many centuries ago. After the visit, you will be chauffeured back to your hotel, where you will be free to relax and enjoy the rest of your evening and reflect on the day's adventures.

The town of Orvieto is known as the pearl of the Umbrian region, and on this tour you will explore this beautiful Etruscan town and sample some of its local wines.

You will meet your personal guide who will first take you to a high lookout for a magnificent view of this majestic town that dominates the valley below. Orvieto boasts Etruscan origins, and examples of this can be found in its museums.Walking with your guide, you will be able to admire the well-known Pozzo di San Patrizio (St. Patrick's well), a masterpiece of engineering constructed by Antonio di Sangallo during the mid 1500's. You will then arrive at the splendid Duomo, a masterful example of central Italian gothic architecture whose construction dates back to the turn of the 13th century. Its rare mosaics, precious marble, its marvelous rose windows and above all, its many frescoes will all leave you breathless. Created by Luca Signorelli, these amazing frescoes were used as models by Michelangelo before the creation of the Sistine Chapel. After the visit to this Etruscan jewel, your personal driver will accompany you to Bagnoregio, a small town of Lombard origins, where you will enjoy a wonderful lunch in one of the most well-known restaurants in the area. Here, the cuisine is simple with traditional dishes of Viterbo; you can enjoy piciarelli (local pasta made with water and flour), wild boar, truffle and fungo porcino (boletus mushroom). For wine lovers, there is an excellent and abundant tasting list, with many local wines such as the famous Orvieto Classico or the EST EST EST di Montefiascone. All of this is seasoned with a splendid panoramic view from the restaurant's exclusive location. You will meet your personal guide in one of the most well-known historic squares, in the neighborhood in Rome, where the traditions of the 1800's are still alive today: Trastevere (transfer can be arranged). Epitomizing Roman life in every corner, in Trastevere you will visit the renowned Basilica di Santa Maria, founded in the 3rd Century by Pope Callixtus I and later renovated by Pope Innocent II.

Next, a visit to the Basilica di Santa Cecilia: a church built (according to legend) upon the family home of Cecilia ("...illustrious virgin, born from noble Roman lineage") who suffered martyrdom in 220 AD. After a walk through the streets of this colorful neighborhood bristling with local folklore and unusual "artigianale" craft shops, you will reach Piazza Trilussa. Here you can admire the bronze bust dedicated to this famous Roman poet and the Fontana di Ponte Sisto (Fountain of Ponte Sisto).
After this you will visit the old Porta Settimiana -the gate in the Aurelian Wall close to Vatican Hill - then pause for an appetizing culinary experience: some of the best homemade pizza in the capital with an amazing wide variety of pizza available by the slice for you to taste. After your meal, you will take a leisurely drive to a location with a breathtaking panorama and a view of the entire city: la Terrazza del Gianicolo (the Janiculum Terrace). This romantic destination offers views of immeasurable beauty, gently caressed by the classic "Roman summer westerly wind".

Finally, you will be chauffeured in luxury back to your hotel or, if you prefer, to the city center.
