"Let the show begin", was the cry to be heard centuries ago at the Theater of Marcellus, where the powerful and triumphant senators of Ancient Rome sat in the front row. Here the curtain is raised to expose an extraordinary universe: the "Jewish ghetto".

On this tour you will explore the ancient Jewish quarter of Rome including the immense Tempio Maggiore - the Great Synagogue of Rome. You will then cross over to Piazza Giudea, where you will be intrigued by a tiny street Vicolo della Reginella, one of the most characteristic streets of the ghetto.
Just beyond this street lies one of the most elegant and "hidden" fountains in Rome: La Fontana delle Tartarughe (The Turtle Fountain), whose turtles and dolphins were masterfully designed by Bernini. We will then lunch at the Taverna del Ghetto Kosher, where chef Umberto will display his gastronomical abilities and historic-culinary expertise.

After lunch, you will wander toward the heart of the capital at Piazza Venezia. This square is the crossroads between the most important Roman streets via dei Fori Imperiali, via del Corso, via del Plebiscito. And this is where Dragonfly Tours will dedicate to you an "arrivederci Roma", with a sight that will take your breath away.

By way of two panoramic elevators, you will reach the Terrazza delle Quadrighe; this terrace is, without a doubt, the highest and most panoramic viewpoint in Rome, from here you can watch the sun set overlooking the Eternal City.

On this fascinating journey you will discover how the Benedictine monks lived, surrounded by spectacular natural scenery.

Your driver will collect you from your hotel and take you to Subiaco, a small village in the province of Rome, where Nerone is believed to have resided. Here you will visit two symbolic monasteries of this town: The Monastery of Santa Scolastica and the Monastery of San Benedetto. Situated in the Sanctuary of Santo Speco both monasteries have significant historic and artistic value.

Filled with statues and frescoes to delight you including the celebrated statue of San Benedetto sculptured by Raggi, one of Bernini's students. You will then visit Abbazia di Santa Scolastica ("Abbot at Santa Scolastica"), the location where the first book in Italy was printed, and have the opportunity to view paintings of various artistic styles from Romanesque to neo-classic.

A stop at the Benedictine Herbalist is a must. Santa Scolastica is the last existing monastery where the ancient method of cultivation, began by San Benedetto, is practiced. Here you will be able to find natural products that the monks have treasured since the beginning of time.

Before returning to your hotel, you will be able to eat in a local tavern where you'll be able to taste traditional "Lazio" dishes.

It would be a pity to relinquish such a tour!

You will meet with your guide at the entrance of the Vatican Museums (transfer can be arranged). There are no queues and no waiting as your specialist guide introduces you to the masterpieces of such great painters as Raffaello, Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci. This is one of the greatest collections of art in the world, a collection gathered over the centuries by the Popes of the Catholic Church.

You will be enthralled and enchanted by the stunning vision of the Sistine Chapel and of the Sala dei Candelabri (Room of the Candelabras), continuing on to the Cortile della Pigna (Court of the Pinecone) and the celebrated Borgia Apartment, and finally direct access into Saint Peter's Basilica.

It is impossible to remain indifferent in the face of imperial Roman architecture, which conquers visitors at first glimpse thanks to the history that permeates even the 'sanpietrini' (literally small Saint Peters) the famous black, squared blocks, that forms the flagging of several streets in the city center, named in this way after the huge Basilica of the Vatican city.

There is a region in Italy...

There is a region in Italy...

There is a region in Italy that, due to its location, is considered the heart of the country; the only region that doesn't border either other foreign countries or the sea. Umbria: spectacular, evocative, unique...After a good breakfast in your hotel your chauffeur will take you to your first stop: Assisi, famous throughout the world for its Basilica di San Francesco, one of Italy's patron saints (together with Santa Caterina da Siena).

The Basilica, besides its religious importance, is also a treasure chest of truly amazing and valuable art: from the frescoes of Giotto, which recount the stories of this saint who talked with the animals, to many other minor artists.
After visiting this church, you will be free to wander around the city and be swept away by its marvelous architecture. Later you will depart for Bevagna, considered one of the "most beautiful villages in Italy." Here you will lunch in a specially selected restaurant packed full of character. Enjoy a selection of dishes made from typical Umbrian ingredients revised to reflect contemporary taste, accompanied by excellent local wines such as the Rosso di Montefalco and the Sagrantino.
Next you will have the chance to explore the streets of this delightful town bursting with medieval charm as if time had stood still. From the shops to the colors, the fragrances to the flavors, this is truly an experience not to be forgotten.

At the end of the day you will be chauffeured in luxury back to your hotel, having spent a wonderful day soaking up the legendary Umbrian hospitality.
